January 09 Traveling AGAIN!Well, tonight I am in Abilene...the heart of West Texas. I don't have much to say other than I MISS my family. It is so hard being on the road all of the time alone. I love my job except for the constant travel. Anyway, I am hoping to open up the Abilene area more this week and then I am going to travel down to San Angelo and on to Alpine. I love that area of Texas. The country is so unspoiled and pure.
I am hoping that the Cowboys can pull out a win this week. If they do not it will be a MASSIVE disappointment. Romo has been such an uplifting element to their game this year, but if he falters, then the failure will be left at his feet.
As far as running goes, I have not done so much as lift a foot this week. I ran about 12 miles last week, but that does not do me alot of good for the 1/2 marathon I have registered for in Feb. I am going to have to get on the stick in a hurry if I am going to be able to finish that.
Anyway. Got to go.
OUT!
Jeff December 31 Happy New Year...well almost!Well, for 2008, I find myself celebrating the new year in Southern California with my family. We are what will probably be one of, if not the last "family" trip we will have. The kids are getting older and going their own way and it is just SO hard to get together and match up our schedules in order to take a trip together. Maybe that will change as they get older and we can take trip as familes rather than family...
Anyway, we drove to DFW yesterday (Sunday the 30th) and flew to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana today. We then drove up the PCH and finally ended up at our hotel. Our hotel is just down the street from the Hollywood Bowl and Mann's Chinese Theatre. We are REALLY tired so this will be short. Our plans are to go to Universal Studios The next 2 days and the go to the Reagan Presidential Library (my choice). Beyond that, I am not sure what we are doing.
I will try and take and post pics along with comments over the next 2 days.
See ya!
OUT.
Jeff September 08 Ballons, running and tennisWell, today found me doing 3 things; Running 8 miles, watching some hot air ballons tak off (see pics) and watching my beautiful daughter play tennis. My faithful running partner and i started our run about 615 and ran about 4 miles before stopping to watch the hot air ballons take off then we ran 4 miles back. As far as my daughter playing Tennis, well let's just say she did AWESOME! And that was against some pretty intimidating teams. Out! jeff September 06 On the road againWell here i am on the road again in West Texas. I am publishing this with my motorola Q smartphone which is pretty cool in itself. We got our new store in Lubbock up and running last week and i am back out in the territory calling on customers and doing the travling thing. i am in abilene about to eat at a mexican food place called Dos Amigos. The food is excellant! If you ever get down here you need to try it! Well i am out for now. Got to go sell something! Jeff July 15 Mission Trip and RunningWell, we just got back about 1 1/2 weeks ago from New Orleans and boy what a trip. I was so surprised to see that NO was still in such disarray and poor shape. We saw 100s houses that had yet to even be started on as far as gutting and remodeling. We saw just as many FEMA trailers sitting on people's front lawns plumbed in and looking rather permanent. I guess that is the Government for ya! Especially the government of La.
However the bright spot of the trip was watching our young high school students working incredibly hard trying to make a difference in an area that sorely needs attantion. I have posted pics of the various things we did in the pic section. I am incredibly proud to be a part of the trip (even though it wore this old man out!) Congrats to Josh and BYM on a great effort on behalf of very needy folks.
On another matter, I have been struggling with getting a 1/2 marathon program started. I am just limping along with 3-4 milers right now which is fine as far as my schedule is concerned, but my motivation is not what it should be. I need to lose about 25 pounds before Cristi and I go to Hawaii in November! So if anyone has any suggestions, please comment.
Anyway, that's all for now. Check out the pics!
Adios.
